PETERSBURG, ALASKA A proposed U.S. Forest Service timber sale on northern Kuiu Island in central Southeast Alaska focuses new logging and road building on a portion of the island that has already seen extensive harvesting. That’s an approach spelled out in this year’s revision of the Tongass forest plan.
