PETERSBURG-AK Petersburg held its newest celebration last week. The Tongass Rainforest Festival included nature talks and walks, a taste of the rainforest potluck and a wild, berry cook-off as well as classes on harvesting, using and preserving the bounty of the Tongass – from picking plants and mushrooms to canning salmon. Matt Lichtenstein spoke with festival organizer Sunny Rice before the festival got underway:
