PETERSBURG, ALASKA Eleven colorful go carts raced down Petersburg’s main street in a light drizzle Saturday afternoon for the 2008 Humpy 500. Racers and their pit crews decorated this year’s crop of wheeled 55-gallon-drum carts as gillnetters, trollers, seagulls, sharks and a variety of other sea life. Participants won cash prizes of 500, 300 and 100 dollars for the top three go cart designs and costumes.
