PETERSBURG-AK Top officials with the state department of transportation now say they are not planning cut-backs to winter road maintenance in southeast. They say road crews have been asked to be conservative with spending, but crews will be able to work overtime if necessary for public safety. Depending on the weather, DOT officials say they may ask lawmakers for more money. That stands in contrast to earlier statements from the agency.
