PETERSBURG-AK Americans across the country are marking today as the first Native American heritage day. Congress and the president this fall approved a resolution designating the Friday after thanksgiving as an occasion to recognize the contributions of native Americans. Petersburg resident Ross Nannauck the third is putting up a display downtown to get the word out about the new heritage day. Joe Viechnicki spoke with Nannuack about what meaning the occasion has for him.
