PETERSBURG-AK State representative Peggy Wilson was happy with the outcome of this year’s legislative session. Among other things, the capital budget included more than 34 million dollars in project funding for her district, which includes Wrangell, Petersburg, Sitka and several smaller towns. The budget is still awaiting Governor Sean Parnell’s approval. Wilson met with Parnell to voice support for the funding, which she and Sitka Senator Bert Stedman had put into the bill for the district.
Wilson is running for re-election to her 6th term in the State House this fall. She’s also facing a 2nd primary challenge from Steven Samuelson of Petersburg. Wilson recently visited Petersburg during the Little Norway Festival. Matt Lichtenstein asked about her re-election bid and her work in the Legislature this year
