PETERSBURG, AK A Petersburg jury this week ruled a man who went missing from the south end of Mitkof island in February probably committed suicide. The disappearance of 25-year-old James A. Crawford of Petersburg prompted a search effort by Alaska state troopers, divers, local volunteers, the civil air patrol and a sea dogs team. After his disappearance, his family found an email confessing to the rape of a Juneau woman last December. Joe Viechnicki has more on that story.
