PETERSBURG-AK A Petersburg family shared their Native Alaskan heritage with a cultural celebration this week. Three of Brenda Louise’s sons married their three brides in a traditional Tlingit ceremony and reception at the Community Gym. The event was opened to the public and a large crowd turned out. We’ll hear some of the sounds of the celebration on next week’s local news.
Louise spent the last year preparing for the event. Last week, Matt Lichtenstein visited with Louise at her home while she worked on wedding regalia with her sister Joyce Makua of Saxman.
