PETERSBURG, AK Teachers and parents urged Petersburg’s school board this week to keep a principal at Mitkof Middle School. The school district announced this month it would not be funding the current configuration of principal and district athletic director in the budget for next year. Staff and parents Tuesday commended the job done by Mike Brawner, who’s midway through his second year in that job. Joe Viechnicki reports.
