PETERSBURG-AK Petersburg's High School cheerleaders took first place for their performance at the regional basketball tournament in Juneau this month. The Viking cheer squad was joined at the event by the High School Pep Band, which brought the largest contingent of students from Petersburg, many of whom played with the region-wide All-Star band. Matt Lichtenstein checked in with their coaches and conductor after they returned this week.
