PETERSBURG, AK Residents on a failing, wooden-planked roadway in Petersburg will see that street redone this year. Petersburg officials got word Tuesday that the Denali Commission will be awarding a grant to redo Birch Street along Hammer Slough. Meanwhile a growing number of Birch Street residents Monday implored Petersburg’s city council to fix the problem.
