The state’s Board of Fish has voted down a proposal to keep commercial red king crabbers out of the waters around Juneau. The Board is meeting this week in Petersburg to decide on proposed changes to Southeast’s crab, shrimp and dive fisheries. Proposals to increase the chances for opening the region’s commercial season every year also failed to get board support.
