Grand officers and other Alaska Native Brotherhood and Sisterhood dignitaries are making a voyage throughout the inside passage this week on the Petersburg-based motor vessel Christian. They are stopping at several ports along the way to celebrate the Brotherhood’s centennial. This week’s trip is one of the special events preceding the organizations 100th Grand Camp convention, which takes place later this fall. The MV Christian is expected to arrive in Petersburg later today, when local ANB and ANS members plan to welcome them with traditional song and an evening potluck. Ross Nannauck III and Brenda Louise are the Presidents of the ANB and ANS camps 16 in Petersburg. Louise is also Grand Seargent at Arms for ANS statewide. Matt Lichtenstein asked them about the significance of the event.
