The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is bringing its hunter information and training trailer to Petersburg next week. They’ll be offering two rifle and archery classes just for women as well as a co-ed shotgun wing-shooting clinic. The introductory rifle and archery classes are part of the agency’s “Becoming an Outdoors Woman” program. Matt Lichtenstein asked coordinator Kirk Lingofelt about it:
The Becoming an Outdoor Woman Introduction to Rifle class takes place in the evening on May 2nd and 3rd. The Intro to Archery class is the evening of May 4th. The co-ed shotgun class is on Saturday. You need to sign up ahead of time with Fish and Game in town at 772-3801 or by going to the department’s website.
