The Mitkof Mummers are back on stage again with a new melodrama for Petersburg’s Little Norway Festival. “Wash Your Troubles Away or Dirty Deeds Come Clean” is the troupe’s first Mayfest play since 2007. They’re performing in honor of former Mummers director and playwright Vara Wright who has moved south and in memory of Penny Ripple, a longtime cast member who passed away last year. Matt Lichtenstein stopped by before rehearsal earlier this week to talk with this year’s Director and cast.
The Mitkof Mummers Melodrama premiers premiered Thirsday night in the Wright Auditorium. The troupe performs again Friday and Saturday at seven.
