A relatively new charitable foundation in Petersburg gave away another round of grants to local non-profits this month. During a Mayfest reception at the home of Glo and Jerry Wollen, The Petersburg Community Foundation awarded seven thousand dollars to help fund six different projects for the Clausen Museum, KFSK public radio, Petersburg Public Schools, the Petersburg Humane Association, and WAVE or Working Against Violence for Everyone. The foundation also contributed a five thousand dollar check towards Petersburg’s new library project.
This is the third year of awards for the foundation, which has given out a total of 18 thousand dollars in grants and managed to establish an endowment totaling 330 thousand dollars so far.
