Twenty-eight years ago Leo Luczak applied for a job with the city of Petersburg as a building maintenance specialist and he’s been working for the municipal government ever since. He’s retiring this week.

Luczak moved here to work construction in 1982 with Tom Bodett of Motel 6 fame. From building maintenance Luczak moved onto to the community development director’s position including building inspection for the community. Joe Viechnicki spoke with Luczak, who started off by reading from that job posting.

Luczak says he plans to stay in Petersburg. His last day in the office is Tuesday, September 30th.
