Both boys and girls cross country teams from Petersburg High School will be heading to the state championships in Anchorage this week after finishing second at the regional races in Ketchikan.
The Ketchikan race saw heavy rainfall and a black bear that stopped the girls race. In that race, the Mt. Edgecumbe girls took first with 36 points. Petersburg was second with 56 points and Wrangell was third with 58. Julia Murph was the top runner for Petersburg with a time of 22 minutes and 17 seconds.
