Petersburg started off the new year with a record rainfall. Yesterday’s 2.07 inches made for the rainiest January 1st on record for the Petersburg, according to National Weather Service records dating back to the 1940s.
As for warm weather, Petersburg set daily high temperture records on December 7 and December 15, at 52 degrees those days. So those are the warmest December 7 and December 15 on record here.
Petersburg also saw high minimum records on four days in December, meaning overnight lows were the warmest on record for December 8, 12, 14 and 15, with overnight lows between 40 and 46 degrees those days.
