A 5K run-walk in Petersburg this weekend looks to support individuals and families dealing with cancer and to honor loved ones who were lost to the disease.
The Circle of Life Run-Walk starts Saturday at 9 a.m. at Sandy Beach Park. It’s put on by the Beat the Odds organization. Beat the Odds brings awareness, education and support to those affected by cancer.
Two organizers—Marlene Cushing and Michele Parker– talked with Angela Denning about the details.
Warm up starts at the park at 8:45 a.m. Registration starts at 8 a.m. or you can register in advance at Lee’s Clothing.
The trail goes out Cabin Creek and back again. There will be refreshments at the end.
Everyone is welcome including strollers and bikes.
