Their job is to make recommendations for using Title Two Funds coming through Secure Rural Schools Act. It’s federal money that goes to communities for special projects that benefit national forest resources.
Linda Slaght is the RAC coordinator. She told KFSK’s Angela Denning that there are lots of local projects that have been funded through RAC.
RAC is meeting at the U.S. Forest Service’s District Office Conference Room from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. It is open to the public and it will be teleconferenced with the Wrangell Ranger District. There is a public comment period from 10-11 a.m.
