Conn learned about the college when he traveled down to the Lower 48 with other senior basketball players from Alaska on an exposure trip. The group visited several colleges to have the players meet and play with the schools’ basketball teams. That’s when Whatcom asked Conn to join them next year.
Conn spoke with Angela Denning about his basketball scholarship. He says he plays as a guard and forward and that’s a good fit for the league he’ll be joining.
Stewart Conn graduated this spring from Petersburg High School. He’ll be playing basketball for Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, Washington.
The school’s mascot is the Orcas.
