After three years in Petersburg, Salvation Army Lieutenants John and Mysti Birks are being transferred to a new post in Marietta, California. Their replacement, Major Loni Upshaw, will be taking over in a few a weeks.
Nora Saks talked to the couple about highlights from their time serving in Alaska, and how they’re approaching this transition.
There’s a farewell potluck for the Birks on Monday, June 12, starting at 6 p.m. at the Lighthouse Assembly of God church.
