Sydney Guthrie will be attending Stanford University this fall on a full academic scholarship. Guthrie was born and raised in Petersburg and graduated from Petersburg High School this spring. She finished school with a 4.0 grade point average and participated in a lot of extra-curricular activities.

She spoke with KFSK’s Angela Denning about the scholarship and her plans for the future. She says she has wanted to go to Stanford for a long time.

Guthrie’s scholarship to Stanford pays for her tuition and part of housing. She has also received several scholarships from local organizations. Guthrie’s school year starts in late September and runs into next June.
