Petersburg High School swim teams competed against schools from all over Southeast in a Juneau meet last weekend.
The boys took fourth out of five teams and the girls took fifth place.
Coach Andy Carlisle said he wasn’t surprised with the results. He told KFSK’s Angela Denning that both teams are small this year giving them a disadvantage scoring points. And also they were tired at the meet.
Senior Van Abbott took second place in the boys 200 yard freestyle on Friday and fourth in the event on Saturday.
Rylan Wallace took second in the boys 100 yard butterfly on Saturday. On Friday, he took third in the event.
Britton Erickson took third place in the boys 100 yard breaststroke.
Maria Pfundt finished third place in the girls 100 yard butterfly on both Friday and Saturday.
In relays, the boys took third place in the 200 yard freestyle on Friday. On Saturday, the boys took third place in the 200 yard medley and third in the 400 yard freestyle relays.
The girls took third in the 200 yard freestyle relay on Friday. And they took third in the 400 yard freestyle relay on Saturday.
