Four Petersburg High School swimmers competed at the State Swim meet at Bartlett High School in Anchorage over the weekend.

Van Abbott, Britton Erickson, Maddy Whitethorn, and Maria Pfundt competed in individual events.

They went up against swimmers from all over the state including the largest schools in Anchorage.

Petersburg High School Swim Coach, Andy Carlisle, says his small team did well competing against all the big schools.

Here’s a closer look at Petersburg’s State swim results:

Van Abbott took 7th place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 49.23 seconds. Abbott took 8th place in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01:88.

Britton Erickson took 14th place in the 50 yard freestyle event with a time of 23.14 seconds and 15th place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 50.49 seconds.

Maddy Whitethorn took 14th place in the 50 freestyle event with a time of 26.08 seconds and 16th place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 57.67 seconds.

Maria Pfundt took 10th place in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:03:46.
