The Petersburg Medical Center is scheduling people for a blood draws for testing later this month and early next month. That’s in advance of Community Health Fair on April 14th. It’s a health screening and educational event held every other year and 2018 is likely the 35th year. During the fair, volunteers offer screening for hearing, vision and blood pressure as well as education about various health conditions. Participants who have had their blood tested can get their results and learn about what those results mean.
For more of a preview, Joe Viechnicki spoke with Liz Bacom, lab and imaging manager at PMC, one of the many people helping to put on the event again this year.
The fair is Saturday, April 14 from 10-1 in the community gym. Blood testing results will be available through the patient portal on the medical center’s website and hard copies are available to patients with an ID at the fair. A reminder to fast for 10 hours before your blood draw but keep drinking water and taking medicine. Blood draws start up Tuesday March 27 at the Dorothy Ingle conference room at the medical center and appointments are required.
