Community members gathered at Petersburg’s Sons of Norway Hall Sunday for the blessing of the fleet. The annual service marks the start of a new year’s fishing season and remembers those who are no longer here. It’s put on each year by the Petersburg Ministerial Association, the Petersburg Vessel Owners and the Sons of Norway and it was held indoors this year on a rainy afternoon.

Those were just a few of the voices from Sunday’s blessing of the fleet, ministers Tom Gregoire, Eric Olsen and Earl Midkiff, fisherman Carolyn Kvernvik and Coast Guard lieutenant Rachel Kent.
