Six runners from Petersburg competed in the 19th Prince of Wales Island marathon last weekend.
The annual 26-point-2 mile run was Saturday, May 26th in an out-and-back course starting and ending in Craig.
Rachel Cramer of Petersburg finished in four hours, two minutes and 26 seconds. JoAnn Day completed the course in 4:22:35.
The men’s winner was Brent Capps of Ketchikan with a time of just under three hours and 29 minutes. Meredyth Richards of Anchorage was the women’s winner, about two minutes behind.
A four-person team from Petersburg also ran the race. Team “Senior Momentums” Marlene Cushing, Patty Zorich, Sharon Hunter and Mary Clemens ran the race as a relay and finished in 5:47:33.
