Three Petersburg High School wrestlers competed at the Anchorage Christian School invitational tournament last weekend. Bethel High was the top team at the tournament. Wrangell was the top school from Southeast, finishing in seventh, while Sitka came in eighth. Petersburg finished in 25th with just three wrestlers competing.
Individually for the Vikings, Kole Sperl took third at 160 pounds, with a record of four wins and one loss. Adam Ware had two losses at the same weight. Koren Sperl finished with two wins and two losses at 171 pounds. Joe Viechnicki spoke with coach Dan Van Swearingen about tournament.
The Vikings have this weekend off and next head to Wrangell the following weekend.
