Petersburg High School girls basketball team recorded their first win of the season at home against Craig this weekend. The Lady Vikings lost to the Lady Panthers Friday night 47-41 but won Saturday 52-45. Tayla Heppe led scoring for Petersburg on Friday with 13 points. On Saturday Kaili Simbahon had 19 points and Ines Larson added 11.

Joe Viechnicki spoke with coach Dino Brock about the games.

The boys team won two games in Craig, 35-28 on Sunday and 46-43 on Monday, improving their record to four wins and five losses. In Sunday’s game, Louden Sandhofer and Thomas Durkin each had eight points, Brennan Skeek scored seven and Gunnar Payne added six. On Monday, Sandhofer led scoring with 17 points and Payne scored 11. Joe Viechnicki spoke with boys coach Rick Brock about the two wins.

Both the boys and girls teams play at home against Haines this weekend with games Saturday and Sunday.
