A young film maker sounding the alarm about global climate change is visiting Southeast Alaska’s Tongass National Forest this summer.
16-year-old Joshua Wright is originally from Washington state but has lived abroad for much of his life, in Asia and Africa. He, his father Chris and uncle Andrew and are filming a documentary called “Rogue; The Story of a System Gone Wrong.” They are focusing on recommendations from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the United Nations body for assessing climate change science. And they’re interviewing people protesting a coal mining project in Australia and logging in Southeast Alaska. Joe Viechnicki spoke with Wright about his project.
Once the film is finished, Wright hopes to show it at various festivals.
