Petersburg’s Municipal Election is Tuesday, Oct. 6. Voters will be choosing who will fill two seats on borough assembly and two seats on the school board among other elected positions in the borough.
To get the details on voting this year, KFSK’s Angela Denning spoke with Borough Clerk, Debbie Thompson. She says polls will be open for in-person voting Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. inside the community gym.
Residents can absentee vote in-person until noon Monday downstairs in the municipal building training room. You can also absentee vote by mail although it’s a little late for that because ballots have to be in the clerk’s hands by October 9 when the election will be certified.
Thompson says electronic submission is a better option for last minute absentee voting. It requires the voter to request an electronic submission from her office. She will email the voter an application and they will send her back the filled out ballot along with a certification form. The electronic ballot stays confidential except for Thompson who will be the one to process it.
The borough clerk’s office is 772-5405.
