The Devil’s Thumb Shooters is a youth shotgun program in Petersburg. It was started by Larry O’Rear and officer Kelly Swihart six years ago. The program has grown and they have 31 athletes this year.

KFSK’s Avery Herrman-Sakamoto sat down with Becky Turland, coach and board member to discuss the program.

17 members of the Devils’ Shooters team attended a regional tournament in Juneau in October. Most athletes placed at the tournament, and are looking forward to the next on in Anchorage next June.

KFSK’s Avery Herrman-Sakamoto spoke with the team to discuss their experience.
