The City of Kupreanof — which has a population of a little over 20 people — canvassed its election results on October 15.
Three seats on the city council were up for grabs this year.
Longtime city council member Butch Anderson will serve another two-year term. The seven-member council also chose Anderson to be Kupreanof’s mayor, with council member John Parker serving as his pro tempore.
Newcomer Sharon Taylor was elected to the other two-year seat on the city council. And voters chose Richard Sprague for a one-year term for a vacated council seat.
Altogether, about half of Kupreanof’s population voted in this year’s municipal election, with a total of 11 ballots counted. That’s more or less the same number of people who voted in Kupreanof’s previous elections.
