PHS swim team prepares for first away meet

Petersburg High School’s swim team is heading to Ketchikan this weekend for their first meet of the season. Ketchikan will be hosting six other schools this weekend.

Alaska ferry system goes back to flat rates this winter

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities announced Sept. 9 that it would stop dynamic pricing this winter. Dynamic pricing means that as seats fill up, the more expensive they get. Going to flat rates is part of a new program called “Reimagining AMHS Program,” that the state announced Sept. 9.
