Coast Guard cutter Anacapa is decommissioned

Late last month the U.S. Coast Guard decommissioned the Anacapa at a ceremony in Port Angeles, Washington. The ship was stationed in Petersburg for more than three decades. KFSK’s Hannah Flor has a look back at the 110-foot boat that patrolled Southeast Alaska waters and helped save many lives.

U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crashes near Petersburg; all 4 crew members survive

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crashed around 10:40 p.m. last night on Read Island in Farragut Bay, about 22 miles northwest of Petersburg. There were four crew members aboard, and all survived.
